Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a Grade 1 listed farmhouse

Highside is a typical grade 1 listed Lakeland working farmhouse dating from 1668. The farm is a working beef and sheep farm covering over 600 acres of low and highland ground. The house has recently been extensively renovated to the highest of standards, and is typical of its period featuring exposed beams, a fantastic inglenook fireplace and with antique décor.

Ullock pike is a family room offering a double and twin beds sleeping upto 4. This room is ideal for families or can also be used as a double or twin. It is very comfortable and has exposed A frame beams giving the room a feeling of openness.

Wythop is a double en-suite bedroom and also features an open ceiling. This room has an old sandstone window opening which was unfortunately closed due to the window taxing laws, but makes an excellent place for tea and coffee making.

Skiddaw is either a double or a twin room. This room is on the ground floor so is ideal for the less mobile. It does have 3 steps internally. Or alternatively it can be entered from the outside which is level to the bedroom.

All the rooms feature en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making tray, homemade biscuits, Complimentary Toiletries Basket, televisions, radio alarm clocks, magazines, hairdryers, full fire alarm system, binoculars, cots/highchairs by request, iron/ironing board by request, and fresh flowers.

Highside Farm is situated only 3 miles from the osprey viewpoint at Dodd wood, and the ospreys can be watched from most rooms fishing on Bassenthwaite Lake.
